Knee arthrosis - gonarthrosis

Women have knee joint arthrosis rather than men. Arthrosis develops usually after forty years, though sometimes there are "young" gonartrosis cases -after injury or among professional athletes.

Heavy arthrosis of the knee joint is the hardest in full women, as well as those with strong varicose veins in the feet.

The disease begins gradually, with a small pain in the knee while walking. The most difficult thing for patients to be given to heredity or climbing stairs. Even pain often occurs when someone needs to get out of the seat (from a chair or from bed) - the first step is usually the most painful. Then, if you deviate, the pain in the knee is slightly reduced. But on foot and after that, it hurts again.

While relaxing, sitting and lying, the pain usually passes. Early pain for knee joint arthrosis does not occur "in one moment", that is, they do not appear immediately, in one day. The intense period of pain in the gonarthrosis is almost necessarily preceded by a period of non -widespread or even widespread pain that occurs exclusively on foot, loading, walking up the stairs or getting up from the chair.

If pain arises significantly, in one day or, moreover, in one second, but before there is no pain in the knee, this usually shows some other diseases or damage. For example, to pinch the meniscus, a violation of the synovial shell or hit between the cartilage of the cartilage (cartilage cartilage).

However, with gonarthrosis, such problems can also occur, and then they will complicate arthrosis courses, adding sharp pain. And then knee arthrosis should be treated, taking into account the above complications. But initially the diagnosis of "knee joint arthrosis" is confirmed precisely by the development of the symptoms of pain gradually.

The first stage of the knee joint arthrosis

Although sometimes, intensive pain, initially, in the first stage of gonarthrosis, the knee bone retains its original form and is almost impaired. But the joints itself can look a little swollen.

Such changes in the form of joints can initially be associated with synovitis (synovitis is a accumulation in the pathological fluid knee).

Knee pain in osteochondrosis

If the fluid in the joint is "obtained" too much, it spreads to the back of the knee, to the popliteal fossa area. The accumulation of such fluid is called a baker cyst. The term "Cyst Baker" often scares patients, as the name brings many people to the idea that we are talking about the oncology process. However, this condition has nothing to do with oncology and tumors. Cyst Baker is just a term meaning fluid accumulation in the knee. Sometimes, when collecting too much of this fluid, it breaks below the knee and below - to the back of the lower leg. But in this case, there is nothing horrible: the baker cyst is usually easily reduced under the influence of anti -inflammatory drugs or the introduction of hormone drugs into the knee. Therefore, the Baker cyst needs to be treated. But no need to handle it!

The second stage of the arthrosis of the knee joint

In the second stage of gonarthrosis, a few months later from the onset of the disease, the knee pain became stronger. Pain occurs from the minimum or immediate load afterwards.

That is, the pain is now caused by almost any movement in the affected knee. But especially the knees hurt after a long load, long walks, wearing small weight.

After a long break, the pain usually passes completely, but during the next movement it occurs immediately.

Around the same time, the crisis in the knee joint during movement is added to pain. It differs from the amount that is far from clicks that are almost inaccessible, sometimes accompanying the movement of healthy joints.

When the disease lasts, such a problem, first expressed weak, becomes more easily heard and different.

I want to emphasize again: No need to confuse the problem of rough arthrit in the joints, almost always accompanied by pain, with the collapse of the harmless joints that occur in some healthy people and not accompanied by pain.

Soft protection of joints -Non -painful joints can only be the result of weak ligaments, or as a result of excessive mobility of the joints or other individual characteristics of the joint structure of a particular person. Usually, such soft problems do not threaten anything, have no negative effects, and do not increase the risk of articular disease in the future. Knee joint arthrosis, arthritis, meniscus damage, etc.

In line with the strengthening of the pain and appearance of Christ, in the second stage of the gonartrosis, the ability to usually bend the legs in the knee decreases. When trying to bend the "stop" knee, there is a sharp pain in the joints, and more frequent knee bending becomes impossible. Sometimes the knees just bend to a 90 degree angle, and then go with difficulty and through pain.

At the same level of the disease, it is noticeable that the joints are defective - first of all, this is the case for bone deformation, changes in the form of a joint bone (when you feel the knee, you can see that the bone has changed its shape, as if it were wider and "coarse").

In addition, changes in the form of joints are aggravated by the accumulation of pathological fluid joints (synovitis). Synovitis at this level of gonarthrosis occurs more frequently and sometimes expresses more than at the beginning of the disease, in the first stage.

The third stage of the knee joint arthrosis

In the third stage of gonartrosis, knee pain in the knee is intensified. Now the knees are not only painful as they move and walk. The pain begins to bother someone even to rest. It is difficult for the patient to find an easy position on the bed, arranging the affected knee so that it does not hurt. However, finding the right position, one can usually sleep. However, if the destruction of the joints is combined with blood circulation disorders, the joints begin to "rotate" in the middle of the night, usually when changing the weather, or, as a patient, "rain".

Knee joint mobility is currently reduced to a minimum. The knees are impossible to bend stronger than 90 degrees. And sometimes the knees are almost bent at all. In addition, the opportunity often disappears to the end, that is, straightening the feet. In this case, the sick person walks on the feet that are slightly bent all the time.

Compared to the second stage, in the third stage of the joint gonarthrosis, the joints are more defective, and in some cases "variables" or "valgus" feet defects develop in the form of O or X-shaped. As a result, people with the same foot deformation often become unstable.
